Summertime Blues -
Delays In Orders Being Received By Document Customers.
We apologise to those customers that have been experiencing delays with their Internet orders placed through the Document Web site. The company is going through a restructuring plan, which was due to go very smoothly through the quite summer months. But the best of plans.
Part of this reconstruction has involved new computers, the updating of a sophisticated accounting and stock keeping software programme and an upgrading in equipment used to process orders involving credit card payments. There is a delay in this change over. The reconstruction is not problematic; it is just slower than expected. The backlog of orders will be given priority and it is expected that these will have been processed and despatched within the next two to three weeks. Those that have orders pending will be contacted individually.

This album was originally released in 1987 as vinyl LP DLP 519.
The opportunity to release this album has allowed us to include take 1 of Robert Johnson’s “Traveling Riverside Blues”. This track having not been released as part of Johnson’s original output was issued for
the first time on Document’s “Too Late, Too Late” Volume 11 DOCD-5625.
Tracks 7 and 10 by
Robert Johnson have been brought together with this compilation from elsewhere in the
Document Catalogue.
Tracks 22 and 23 by Robert Lockwood Jr. are new editions to the Catalogue.
The album presents a fine demonstration of how the raw country blues of the deep south was swept along by the great migration north where it metamorphed into the powerful electric blues of Chicago which then went on to effect the music of generations around the world.
