Suggested contractor price is $92.85 AND it just keeps getting better and better......X10 PRO continues to provide increased performance levels and features coming to its 2008 product line. First, is the introduction of “WINDOWED AGC”, a feature that greatly enhances the hearing capacity of the X10 PRO receiver modules. Using the new “W-AGC” allows the receivers better listening for the X10 transmission signals at zero crossing. The effects of this increased capability will reduce the levels of (1) False activations caused by ghost signals and (2) Signal blockage to commands because of power line noise. This greater overall performance level of the products can provide reduced contractor call backs and technical issues, increased sales, profits…and higher customer satisfaction. With the addition of other new features such as “Soft Start” and “Resume Dim” on some modules, X10 PRO continues to provide leading edge innovative products, at an unmatched price point, with a reliability and performance level 10 times above the old standard. Contact your local distributor and ask about these exciting new features coming from X10 PRO…After 30 years...still a world leader in remote control solutions. In the past, compadre Americans, when you ordered stuff and refused to take delivery of it, it would eventually show up back at our office, we would give you your money back less freight. Cool. NOW when you refuse itthey charge ME Freight Back, which is the same as the freight there, and you pay for that, are ya with me on this ?? Just letting you all know, this isgoing to drive me nuts, thank you Canada Post DSC is pleased to introduce the latest advancement in motion detection. The new LC digital PIR detectors and dual technology detectors complement DSC’s extensive line-up of reliable motion detectors. They feature a spherical lens with higher coverage angle for better detection, pet immunity up to 25 kg (55 lbs) and a slim, attractive design that is perfect for any residential or commercial installation. The LC series of detectors also offers increased operating temperature (-10ºC to +50 ºC) and operating voltage ranges, lower current draws, and a wide range of detection sensitivity adjustments. The LC-100-PI (Form A contact) and LC-120-PI (Form C contact) effectively blends performance with competitive pricing. The LC-103-PIMSK, LC-123-PIMSK, LC-104-PIMW and LC-124-PIMW are dual-technology motion detectors that combine passive infrared with pet immunity and microwave detection. The LC-103-PIMSK and LC-123-PIMSK also support anti-masking.The anti-masking feature prevents intruders from defeating the detector by covering its field of view. The anti-masking feature works by sensing objects or barriers that may block the detector field of view at a distance of 2.62’ (0.8 m) and closer. If the field of view of the detector is intentionally obscured by an intruder, the dedicated anti-masking output opens (switches from NC to NO) and remains in this status until the PIR sensor is activated.Product features include:• Digital signal analysis and advanced ASIC-based technology utilizing a quad Linear Imaging Technology for sharp analysis of body dimensions and differentiations from background and pets.• Pet immunity up to 25 kg (55 lbs).• Very low current draw.• Form “A” or “C” alarm contact and tamper switch.• EOL resistor terminal on LC100 & LC120 to eliminate B-connectors or soldering.• Height installation calibration free.• User-friendly installation with or without swivel-mount bracket• Adjustable variable pulse count using a jumper and/or potentiometer.• Compact design for all type of installations.• UL and ULC approved.• RoHS compliant.Ordering Information:Form “A” ContactLC-100-PI-6PK PIR Detector with Pet Immunity (Package of 6)LC-104-PIMW-W PIR and Microwave Detector with Pet ImmunityLC-103-PIMSK-W PIR and Microwave Detector with Anti-Masking and Pet ImmunityForm “C” ContactLC-120-PI-6PK PIR Detector with Pet Immunity (Package of 6)LC-124-PIMW-W PIR and Microwave Detector with Pet Immunity (Coming Soon)LC-123-PIMSK-W PIR and Microwave Detector with Anti-Masking and Pet Immunity (Coming Soon)If you would like the specification sheets and installation cut-sheets, please reply back and they will be forwarded to youStarted up a new web-store-shopping-cart-basket-deal, some people do not like the format of this current site, which is fine. We still want your moneythough, so here is the new, less satirical possible direction of the Baran-Harper Group New smokes store - betaThis not a blog site, but I do post the odd little snippet of things I find interesting, like oil for example, peak oil..... If you believethere could be a problem looming ahead, here you go: "I did hear an interesting comment about the supply chain last week. Thetheory is that supply & demand are riding so close together that the on-sitestorage facilities (presumably by the well-head(s)) are being drawn down atrecord rates, and possibly by the end of the summer production and refinerydemand will be in lock-step with the physical flow-rate of the well-head."Intersting, AND the world is quiet right now, no stress, ok back to business, Can I sell you a SA379 Smoke detector ? carton of 72 ?Welcome to one of the most boring low-tech websites on the web, but it works, has a sense of humour and feeds my kids. If you have any questions, drop me an email Doug Harper or give me a phone call at 905-294-6473, I may even answer the phone, and for those really low tech secure orders, send a fax to 905-471-6322 and save 5%May, prices for Leviton, DSC, X-10 continue to drop as the US/Canada pricing spread is starting to trickle down in wholesale pricing. Still a large spread on DSC products, but they appear to have dropped about 5% over last month Back from England, an interesting cold damp country where a bad cup of coffee is 3.40$, pack of smokes 15$, gasoline, 2.85$+/L, and a million dollarsdoes not get you much of a house....great to be home. Oh yeah, housng prices in the UK are predicted to drop 40%.....April 9-23 will be out of the office, an unplanned trip to England, now according to HP/Rogers/O2/Virgin you shouldbe able to call and send email. Transparent, seamless integration. This should be interesting, try email first. Product will still be shipping, I'm just not there. if you have a DICON 330L in your hand want want to replace it with a SA360: There are no more DICON GLOBAL SA360 smoke detectors left, all gone, finito. We do have however all of the remaining DICON SA379 Smokes which arethe same BUT they have a 9 volt battery (included) with them. This is mandated in some states/provinces. We have after 20 years changed our FAX number. The ubiquitous FAX, secure, reliable, it's like the boat anchor of business.Send us an order by fax and save 5%. our new fax number is 905-471-6322, write '5% off' on the order, heck we can't give this offer to everyoneHaving problems with the security certificate on the order entry screen. Not everybody is getting the lock in the bottom right hand corner of theirbrowser. I am, are you ? Order Entry Screenthanks, Doug HarperIt appears that IE/Firefox is good, AOL/GOOGLE is not, hmmmmSpring has arrived in Canada: 11C in the office, -4C outside, BUT the sun has emerged. One of our many spring sports is that of driving your snowmobileover frozen lakes, and see if you live, and of course, the traditional melting of the igloo. Spring is a time when a young mans thoughts turn to putting away the snow shovel. Spring is good As the bouyant currency market bounces, my cost of goods is getting creative, orders over 500$, especially Leviton,it's best if you ask for a quotation. DSC alarms is simple, if you want a Canadian approved product, you have to pony up the price. U.S. pricedCanadian approved product does not exist. Simple as that. An interesting situation. I can supply you U.S. approved product at U.S. pricing, plus a bit to feed thekids, or I can sell you Canadian approved product. We do not ship Smoke Detectors to the US unles UL approved. In the design of a system, consider the implications of a non approved elements and your assorted insurance policies, for example.WHATEVER you do, GET the BIGGER BATTERY ! Its a good thing tha we are ALL moving over to the Amero. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click Amero. I must have blinked and missed the part where the Government of Canada asked formy opinion on this. Check this link outYouTube. Right from the horses mouth: Tech update from X10 PRO Hello everyone,The latest XPFM inline receiver module in the warehouse are confirmed that they "DO" respond to ALL LIGHTS ON!! I am sure that this feature will help open additional applications for using X10 products. The modules with date codes having this feature started at 07L52. There are more new features on the way and we will keep you updated. Everett StewartX10 Pro Sales Division416-580-0104Been playing with X-10 for 20 years, recently the CFL's are giving the industry grief, as well as the consumer. Getting harder to purchase a60 watt old school lightbulb. X10/CFL both have to figure this one out. X-10 has the 3 wire dimmer, XPDI3IW. , but getting a reliable, low cost, dimming CFL is anotherissue. LED's are also a problem. Most X-10 based products consume parasitic power, which is enough power to drive LED's. Turn it off and it dims down. TurningCFL's ON and OFF is not a problem: XPS3IWXPS3IW.Some of you have been asking about the Maple Syrup we give away with orders in the spring. Soon. The trees are still frozen. For those of you that haveno idea what Maple Syrup is, then allow me to retort: It is a Canadian Delicacy, intergral to our polished cusine. In the spring we boil the sap from Sugar Maple treesand consume as a topping on anything, like bacon, for example. Getting a lot of people shopping for DSC in the U.S. I'm with you on this, importing is the way to go in some cases. The DSC sold hereis CSA, DOT, FCC, MIC-KEY approved. U.S. Models in general are not, with various implications. The power supplies are not CSA, Smokes are out totally, RF product fails communication. All warranties are void. The rest you are good to go on.Now you know. Been playing with the DSC wireless keyfobs, they come with a belt clip assembly. This assembly is drilled for screws, which means you have a portable wall mounted keypad, sort of. Arm Home, Arm Away, Disarm, Panic + 1 programmable, Purfect. The fob just clips in and out, guess I should go take a pictureSome of you are asking about the items sold stamped 'Made in China'. I know, it's in the news, good stuff/bad stuff, I sell the good stuff, no room to store bad stuff, everythig is new, unused(for those that ask). This just cracks me up, but is it legal ? Alarm MinesPricing: We show 3 primary currencies, the Canadian Dollar, U.S. Dollar, and the Euro. With the current fluctuatins taking place in the global market, ignore all pricing except the Canadian one. The Euro vs. the Canadian dollar is pretty stable, but the change in the U.S.is flipping me out on the conversions.....I know I could build a 'proper' website.....but I'm not, this one works, and has worked well for past 15 years......Welcome to 2008, you made itCanada Dec 20th: A Canadian company, yes we are. To reduce gases we have lowered the temperature of our igloo to a balmy 7 Degrees C. causing usto use less ice in our beverages this Christmas season. May you have a joyous season. Cheers. |
