All the departments listed below deliver courses at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels (as chosen by the student), as well as carrying out research in these fields.
The Faculty leads Doctoral courses in Mechanical Engineering as well.
Major fields of study:
- applied mechanics,

Department of Internal Combustion Engines and Vehicles:
- modelling and experimental analysis of the phenomena of injection of engines with automatic ignition,
- modelling and experimental research on the development of electronic system, controlling parameters of injection and re-circulation of exhaust gases,
- construction and experimental research of self-ignition engines fed by alternative fuel,
- dynamics of vehicles, power transmission and distribution systems, electrical vehicles, traction control systems,
- construction and development of power distribution in 2 W- and 4 W drives.
Department of Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals:
- fatigue strength and contact problems of gears,
- CAD with FEM and BEM,
- dynamics and control of cranes,
- design and modernisation of pump flow system,
- flow problems in artificial aortic valve,
- high temperature corrosion of metals and alloys,
- high quality coast iron,
- modelling and analysis of mechanical systems by means of graphs and bound graphs,
- computer graphics.
Department of Manufacturing Technology and Automation [homepage]:

- refining, modification and crystallisation of aluminium alloys (ATD and AED),

Department of Mechanics and Computer Engineering Methods:
