ADvertising Systems have different nomenclatures based on the application. They
are moving message displays, running displays or display boards. The Light Emitting Diode used as
the pixel element gives them the other name LED Display. Outdoor Display used
for the purpose of advertising brings them the name Electronic Bill Board or
Animated Hoarding. when used in the Production floor for displaying production
targets and achievements they are called Production displays or ANDONs. They are
used in Banks and Financial institutions for displaying Interest Rates and
Foreign exchange rates and in shops & establishments for displaying pricing
information. Hence the name Rate Displays. A scrolling single line display is a
stock ticker
Information
Displays are manufactured for custom requirements. They are Microprocessor or
Micro-controller based systems. Information Displays are user programmable. The
Application Software supplied along with the displays, enables programming under
windows environment. On line information update facility from a PC makes them
ideally suited for mass communication like displaying stock quotes, employee
communication and customer information.

Global Multimedia Limited was incorporated as a Public Limited
Company on Sep 30, 1992. The Company is a Private Limited Company
since Dec 3, 2004.
Global Multimedia is strong in all aspects of
embedded system design and development of Electronic products including
hardware, firmware, network and web technologies. The
Company has a number of products yet to be commercialized on a large scale.
The brief history of the Company follows:
The Company was promoted by a group of first
generation entrepreneurs to setup a video studio and offer Multimedia Services.
The Company could not implement the project due to business inexperience, short
of financial resources and
changes in the market conditions effected by the beginning of economic reforms
in India started during the same year. The Company developed Information
Advertising Systems and Tower Clocks while waiting for an appropriate market
condition during the years 1992 to 1996. The products developed during the
waiting period practically turned out to be the main products of the Company and
fuelled the growth.
Global Multimedia won the contract
of Rs.65 Million (US$1.3 Million), during Aug 2001, in a Global Tender for supply
of display equipments to First Afro-Asian Games with the financial backing of State
Bank of India. The infamous Sep-11, 2001 terrorist attack on WTC
resulted in indefinite postponing of Afro-Asian Games leading to stalled
business operation of the Company. The Company recovered from the 9/11 shock
by Aug 2004 and is looking ahead for growth.
