PowerBarge LLC is a privately held company providing turnkey engineering, procurement, construction and marine maintenance services, to developers, owners and operators of power barges and barge mounted power plants.
PowerBarge's project participation supports project development from equipment, fuel and site fuel selection through turnkey fabrication, installation, delivery and commissioning of gas turbine power barges.
Engineering Construction and Procurement Services include systems engineering and integration of power generation packages within a marine platform, as well as the development of design and operational requirements of the integrated auxiliary systems that are unique to power plants operating in a marine environment. PowerBarge also provides general site design and civil engineering requirements for the operational site. PowerBarge has established business relationships with a majority of the primary power generation equipment suppliers. We offer to design systems around either pre-selected equipment or to develop a total power barge design including the thermal island.
Construction Services range from the sourcing of the platform fabrication to equipment installation. PowerBarge has agreements for the construction of power barges through a network of U.S. fabrication and outfitting yards in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as shipyards in Europe and in the Far East.
PowerBarge also provides delivery of the completed power barge to any coastal region in the world using semi-submersible heavy lift vessels or ocean deck barges. Power barges are usually dry towed on the deck of these vessels to minimize transit conditions and speed delivery. Commissioning services include the marine mooring systems, the interconnection of the power barge to the shore facility, as well as start-up and commissioning of the power island.
For existing power barges on site and in operation, we offer Marine Maintenance Programs to assist the owner in servicing the platform and providing regulatory and inspection consulting. These life cycle services include the implementation of special underwater survey in-lieu of dry-docking programs, as well as, routine maintenance programs for the barge structure and operating systems.

A ~100 MW ISO rated gas turbine power barge configured for diesel fuel and/or natural gas. Operating frequency can be configured for 50 or 60 Hz at 11/13.8 kV generation. This power barge can operate either anchored in harbor or tied up to a pier.
Two P&W FT4C-1D Twin Pac generating units capable of base load power each with an output of 50 MW at ISO conditions.
There is a 96,000 gallon fuel storage tank on deck as well as a 96,000 gallon demineralized water tank.
The substation will consist of two step-up transformers that increase the generator voltage to the grid voltage.
