Do you have questions about meetings of organizations, boards, bylaws,
committees, or parliamentary procedure? If so, then you could benefit

resolutions, referee when there are problems with debate, manage

election of officers and board members, and advise regarding the
voting
process and the final results. We provide both consultations and

in procedure as found in Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised
- protocol in meetings, hierarchy of motions, bylaws, special rules,
committees, boards, officers' duties, etc. -- custom designed for

The
smaller the quorum (required number of members present to transact
business), the greater the probability that lots of folks will show
up for the meeting.
The
problem with bylaws is that they are simply too long!
Neither
parliamentarians nor anyone else can find a place or use for the
motion to lay on the table. However, what about the times in Congress
when the Speaker says, "Without objection, the motion to reconsider
is laid on the table."?
To
postpone indefinitely is a great motion. It allows opponents of
a given proposal to say "no" by voting "aye."
People don't like to say "no."
To
move the previous question in a small board is frowned upon. Inherent
in the motion is a suspension of the rules. So, what's the big deal?
