The Association of Information Systems (AIS) and
the ISWorld Net Virtual Meeting Center (VMC) is pleased to announce our inaugural AIS-PERT
series. A recognized expert will focus on a particular aspect of Information Systems
research and moderate a four day asynchronous virtual workshop. The second workshop is
listed below, and you can also view the archive of the first workshop. You are invited to
participate and interact with the leaders in the field! All you need is a web browser. The
workshop is free of charge to AIS members (if you are not a member, we invite you to join
and take advantage of this benefit).

Series
A special guest focuses on a specific topic during a scheduled real time
"chat" session. The sessions are scheduled to run on every Monday starting on
April 6 at 2100 UTC (5pm EDT, 2pm PDT). Each session
will run for approximately one hour. You are invited to participate and interact with the
leaders in the field! All you need to participate is a web browser. There is no charge to
attend. Each session is limited to 20 participants so spaces will fill up fast, you must
be a registered user before you can participate in a session. If you have already
participated in a session, we would value your feedback.

Objectives
The goal of the ISWorld Net Virtual Meeting Center (VMC) is to use and evaluate online
meeting technologies. The VMC will organize and make available to our users one or
more of the following:
Round table discussion
Informal interactive discussions on research and instructional topics and methodology.
Guest speakers
Meet and discuss issues with executives from industry, senior researchers, and book
authors.
Private meetings
Schedule a private meeting to discuss a topic. (currently, private meetings are limited
to non-profit associations and conferences)
Lounge
A permanent virtual meeting area for faculty, researchers, and students.
Special projects
From time to time we will undertake special projects such as supporting virtual
seminars, student project teams, and other initiatives.
