BIG JOHN Model 80C installed on 1989
Volvo. Low entry swept back front axle. Cummins L10 270 HP
engine. Allison HT740 automatic transmission. Originally
spec'd as refuse truck. Double frame. 103,060 miles. 175"
cab-to-trunnion. 20k lbs. front axle. 44k lbs. rear axle.
Front - mini floats. 85% rubber - all virgin. Recent truck
maintenance: new alternator, rebuilt turbo/injector pump and injectors,
transmission was rebuilt professionally, front and rear differential inspected,
trunnion and ride well suspension disassembled and rebuilt complete, new axle
oil seals/wheel bearings, brakes, rear end of truck like new, front axle went
through bearings/brakes, new bushings and pins front springs/also modified
springs for a softer ride. When truck was purchased, the cab was gutted
and wiring simplified. Truck has all wheel disk brakes. Truck drives
straight. No uneven tire wear. Handles great. Easy to
drive. Tree spade had one blade replaced last year - $5,000.00. New
lift track slides and nylatron blocks. No hydraulic leaks. This unit
starts and runs good. Easy on fuel. No oil leaks, doesn't burn oil,
no black smoke. Good ready-to-work package. Located near Milwaukee
