For the symposium in 2000, we expect about 400 participants.BIORESOURCE HEMP® 2000 will be held at the Congress Park in Wolfsburg, Germany from September 13-16, 2000 as part of the Worldwide EXPO-2000 project "Kreislaufwirtschaft - Resource Management" (Closed-Loop Economy). The symposium will focus on the following topics:Status and potential for further development of the worldwide hemp and natural fibres economy, agricultural policy framework.Breeding, cultivation, harvesting and fibre processing technologies.Product lines for fibre (especially pulp, automotive industry, insulation materials), hurds (animal bedding, building materials), and seeds/oil (foods, cosmetics, detergents).Latest results from research and development of innovative products.Cannabis and cannabinoids in medicine.For the first time, the symposium program also encompasses other fibre plants such as flax, jute, and kenaf.More than 80 scientifical-technical oral presentations and poster sessions will be given. Conference languages are English and German (simultaneous translation).In addition to the main conference hall, the Wolfsburg Congress Park offers several smaller seminar rooms which can be rented for round table meetings. The foyer to the main presentation hall will host tables with publications and products.Of particular interest are several supporting events of the BIORESOURCE HEMP® 2000:The exhibition "Kreislaufwirtschaft - Resource Management" which showcases diverse products and life cycles based on renewable resources will be held in Wolfsburg from June 1 - October 31, 2000 (about 10minutes by shuttle bus).
